Documentation
Install, run, schedule, and manage AriaOS from one page.
This documentation is focused on real user flows: installing the VM, using Terminal Aria, using Remote Mode, understanding long-term memory, scheduling future tasks, and handling billing or updates.
Core Product Rules
- Long-term memory lives in a visible desktop file and can be edited by the user.
- Future tasks are separate from long-term memory and are executed later by the scheduler.
- Browser work is handled through direct computer use whenever web execution is the right tool.
- Remote sessions use the OpenAI key configured locally inside Terminal Aria.
- If an update is required, Aria blocks usage until the new version is installed.
Getting Started
Install AriaOS on your machine.
Start with VirtualBox, import the OVA, boot the VM, then finish setup inside AriaOS.
Install Steps
- 1Download Oracle VirtualBox from the official VirtualBox downloads page.
- 2Open Control Tower and download the latest AriaOS `.ova` from the Download page.
- 3In VirtualBox, choose Import Appliance and select the AriaOS `.ova` file.
- 4Start the VM and wait for the AriaOS desktop to appear.
- 5Sign in to your Aria account inside the VM or link the VM from Control Tower.
- 6Open Terminal Aria and connect your local OpenAI key when prompted.
- 7Run your first task locally before using Remote Mode from another device.
What Users Need Before Starting
- VirtualBox installed on the host machine.
- The latest AriaOS `.ova` downloaded from Control Tower.
- An Aria account for linking the VM and managing billing.
- A valid OpenAI API key for Terminal Aria and remote tasks.
- Enough disk, CPU, and RAM to run a VirtualBox guest smoothly.
Setup Checklist
Download VirtualBox, then import the latest AriaOS OVA.
Boot the VM and link it to your Control Tower account.
Open Terminal Aria and connect your OpenAI key locally.
Important Setup Notes
- The account session is linked to the VM itself, not just the browser tab.
- The OpenAI key is requested locally inside the VM. Control Tower is not the place to enter it.
- You can use the VM first, then open Remote Mode later once the device is linked and online.
